Ayurvedic Digestive Tea

Updated: Mar 28, 2022

Do you get occasional bloating, indigestion, or constipation?

These are common problems for menstruating women, especially in the late luteal phase (before menstruation) or during menses. Since your gut is your "second brain" & is responsible for the majority of your serotonin, your immune system, & contributes to hormone regulation, skin health, & more, having a healthy digestive system is part of feeling your best!

One of my favorite simple remedies for soothing the digestive system & reducing minor bloat is called CCF tea, which is an Ayurvedic recipe.

Ayurveda translates to "life science" & is an ancient holistic health practice that blending mind, body, & spirit.

The CCF tea contains three simple ingredients: coriander, cumin, & fennel.

Coriander seeds improve digestion, may improve blood sugar levels, & reduce inflammation.

Cumin also improves digestion & lowers inflammation, & also may fight bacteria or parasites.

Fennel soothes the stomach, is antimicrobial & anti-fungal, may reduce menstrual cramps, & curbs cravings.

In order to make this tea, simply add equal parts of each spice to (1/2 to 1 teaspoon each) to a pot of 4 cups of water. Bring it to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes, strain, & sip throughout the day.

CCF tea should be enjoyed savory & spicy, with no honey or sweetener at all.
